Last weekend we spent an afternoon at our Farm (and the men later at Hidden Falls in Auburn for a Mountain Bike Ride!) with Dustin + Mikahla for their Grass Valley Maternity Session. There’s so much to say about this image…new friends that I just met, but feel like I’ve known. When God brought us to Santa Rosa for two years, He introduced us almost immediately to two really special people and this is their son, daughter-in-law and first Grandson. And this was taken at our Farm – God’s provision and fulfillment of our dream (and really more than we dreamed of.) His parents stood with us in prayer while we were “in the waiting room” before I was pregnant with Samuel (and when they found out they were going to grandparents for the first time.)
What a privilege to sit on our porch rocking chair with Samuel, watching Jay photograph them. We were delighted these South Lake Tahoe residents came to visit us for their Grass Valley Maternity Session. They are planning a beautiful home birth and when Mikahla and I chatted about it I was reminded of the time I spent photographing my sister’s home birth in September – it is not for the faint of heart and such a privilege to be a part of!
We loved seeing the joy these two have to be pregnant with the son they are so excited to meet and live wild with! Backpacking, playing in the Lupine fields, adventuring on hikes, camping trips, and all the outdoor activities that this fun couple are planning to share with their new little guy has us excited to be a part of it. Mikahla and Dustin are wonderful people – so fascinating, intelligent, Godly, and fun!
Is was such a treat to spend the afternoon with you three! We are so excited to meet your new little guy and hear your birth story. Stay tuned for more from this special Grass Valley Maternity Session coming soon.
