We welcomed the newest member of our family, Samuel James into the world on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 2:13pm, weighing 6lbs, 3oz and measuring 19.5 inches.  Samuel’s birth was definitely a surprise with him arriving a month early, so when the date of my scheduled maternity shoot arrived, I was just arriving home from the hospital with my new little bundle!  Jay and I decided to do a newborn session with Samuel and I at our new home in Grass Valley – here is an image from our time together.

Samuel’s birth was extra special because big sister Gracie was present!  My sister Sara was there (as she was for our son Noah and Rhys’ birth) and not only is she a wonderful support, but is so great at documenting life.  We are grateful she captured such beautiful images.  Stay tuned for the next post where they’ll be included.  xo, Jackie

When I met Gina and Kelechi for breakfast at a bakery in the San Francisco Marina one weekend, saw those big beautiful smiles on their faces, and listened as they described their upcoming San Francisco Wedding they were beginning to plan, I knew Jay and I were in for a treat.  Jay and I look back at their wedding and the first word that comes to mind is relationships.   With 12 bridesmaids and groomsmen at their side, Gina and Kelechi had a beautiful, elegant affair that was filled with fun!  From the getting ready that started at 5:30am at Intercontinental The Mark Hopkins, to the cable car ride to and from the Hotel and Saints Peter and Paul Church, Gina, Kelechi, their family and closest friends spent the day together celebrating the union of two close knit, wonderful families from opposite ends of the globe.

There were beautiful, touching moments throughout the day between Kelechi and his groomsmen as they got ready, helping each other put on and straighten bow ties,  and share a few drinks together, between Gina and her Grandfather as he arose from his chair to dance with her for a minute or two.  Between Gina and her bridesmaids when they saw her in her gown for the first time, and between Kelechi and his brother when he spoke about their relationship and dynamic growing up that had us all laughing.

Gina and Kelechi, we are grateful to have been part of your beautiful, fun, and memorable day.  The warmth and sincerity both you and your families, and those closest to you showed us, touched us and we will remember your day always.
